2023 is ray bourque's 1st season as 3ice coach. he was drafted 8th overall in the NHL’s 1979 Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins and spent20 seasons in Boston, including 12 as team captain. He was a dominant player, earning 17 NHL All-Star selections and winning the Norris Trophy as the NHL’s best defenseman five times. Bourque joined Colorado for a run at his 1st Stanley Cup in 2000, achieving that goal the following season. both of his former teams–the Bruins and the Avalanche–retired his #77 jersey, making him one of nine NHLers to have his jersey retired by two clubs. In 2004 in his 1st year of eligibility, Bourque was selected to the Hockey Hall of Fame. In 2017, he was named one of the NHL’s 100 Greatest Players.
